Thracia Cho Leem was a Jedi Master of the Jedi Order during the time of the return of the Sith and the Battle of Naboo. A small woman with aquiline features and short, gray hair, Thracia was a contemporary of Senior Jedi Council member, Mace Windu. Although Thracia lived the adventurous life of a Jedi, Thracia found time to become a wife as well as a mother, whose responsibilities she balanced against the responsibilities of a Jedi. As a Jedi Master, Thracia was strong in the healing art and preferred to train female Padawans, pretty much always avoiding male candidates.

At the time of the Battle of Naboo, Thracia was in the process of training the Fosh Jedi Knight Vergere, a curious species with birdlike and simian features. Not employing the sedentary lifestyle of many Jedi, Thracia conducted many missons away from Coruscant, allowing her to explore much of the galaxy. Soon, it came time for her Padawan to test her skills on a solo mission, and as was such, Thracia sent Vergere to the legendary planet of Zonama Sekot.

There, the planet and its inhabitants were frequently attacked by a mysterious group of aliens with a devastating power to scar the planet itself. Veregere discovered this and attempted to negotiate a settlement between the natives of Zonama Sekot and the invaders. Time passed and no word of Vergere ever reached back to Thracia or the Jedi Council. Eventually, the only news that she received was that her Padawan had disappeared. With this disturbing news, the Jedi Council decided to send Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and his young Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, to investigate Vergere's disappearance.
